Symposium Venue

The symposium will be held in the historical great hall of the University of Ferrara which is located within walking distance of the medieval city centre.

Ferrara, which grew up around a ford over the River Po, is one of Italy's greatest Renaissance centres. The splendour of the Este Court age has left indelible signs everywhere: in the colossal Biagio Rossetti’s Addizione Erculea project, in the Castle and in all historical monuments. In 1391 was founded the Ferrara University as witness of great intellectual development of the city. From 1995 Ferrara has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage list as "...a marvellous example of a city planned in the Renaissance that has preserved its historic centre intact."
